 This Friday at dancing: September Birthdays and Anniversaries!Dee DJ's, Jeff assists. |
 Do you have a birthday or anniversary in September, or know a fellow folk dancer who does? Come to folk dancing to celebrate with song, dance, and cake! Our DJ for this lively event will be Dee McCandless. Dee will be assisted by Jeff Kessel. |
 Teaching: Join us promptly at 7 as Robert Sampson teaches Hora Hadera. Later Laman Hendricks will introduce an Azerbaijani dance. |
Friday, September 8, 7-9:45 pm. The admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older. There is no fee for those under 18,
but they must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.

AIFD is organized exclusively for educational purposes, including the promotion and teaching of traditional folk dance, music and crafts native to a variety of countries.

September 22: AIFD Open House!!!
It's time for our FREE annual open house! Join us from 7:00 to 9:45 for a festive event with plenty of dance teaching for newcomers. Invite your family, friends, and co-workers to come and discover the joy of folk music and dance!

September 29: An evening with Slavadillo!!!
Enjoy an evening of boisterous live music from our resident folk quartet, Slavadillo! We’ll be treated to the instrumental and vocal stylings of Anne Alexander, Don Weeda, Kathleen McDonagh, and Mike Revesz.

Monday, Sep 11: Csardas Beginners' Class.
Ever wanted to check out Hungarian dancing? The Csárdás Hungarian Dancers of Austin is starting a new basic class. Monika and Alma will teach Szilagysagi, a couple dance from Transylvania. Please come by and check us out.
No experience or partner is necessary. 7-8 pm, Backroom, HRC, free.

Fri-Sat, Sep 29-30: 85th Austin Mediterranean Festival!!!
The Austin Mediterranean Festival is one of the oldest and most popular food festivals in Austin: an Austin tradition for more than 80 years! The 85th Mediterranean Festival will be held on Friday, September 29th, 6 pm to 11 pm and Saturday, September 30th, noon to 11 pm. Join us again this year for an even greater fun filled weekend!
