This week at dancing
Programming:
Just back from his performance with Csardas at West Fest last weekend, Misi Tsurikov will DJ a great evening of dancing. He will be assisted by Iola Hallock

Teaching:
Remember that great Paul Simon song "Fifty Ways to Lead Your Partner (in schottis)"?**
You just lead 'round the back, Jack
Take a new hand, Stan
You don't need to be a boy, Joy
Just learn from Holly. . .
Join us this Saturday when Holly Plotner will teach a multitude of schottis variations designed to appeal both to beginning and experienced dancers. Kathleen McDonagh will be on hand to lead walk-throughs at 7:30, so step-step-step-hop on over!
**With apologies to Paul Simon

Hoping for Rain
- by J. Donald Coonrod
An invasion of half-tones,
slowly growing cells below
a veil of brilliant yellow blooms,
covering the bones of Christ,
rattling in loose satchels
on a wandering mule,
looking for Spring
in Death Valley.
Hear the clicking, clicking,
coming together before sleep,
a clock of mystery,
when nothing is left
but dry seeds,
a western plain hugging
the heat, hugging despair and
hoping for rain.
