MisiFranklinTeaching: Misi Tsurikov will lead us through a newcomers' session that will include dances you are likely to see at next week's open house. Later, Franklin Houston will review Berovka and Tropnalo Oro, the dances he taught two weeks ago.

$5 at the door 17 & older. 16 & under free.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

On August 10th AIFD dancers unanimously voted in favor of a new membership policy. Members are defined as people who have been dancing for one month or more with the group and who pay a membership fee of $10 per year. To become a member, contact Michel Breger (treasurer@aifd.cc) or approach a Board member during Saturday night dance. Thanks to everyone who showed up to vote. Your support for AIFD was unparalleled!

Back to schoolInvite your family and friends to AIFD's September Open House. Madeline Madeline Brock will DJ this very special event. Madeline has arranged a great program that includes live performances, fun dancing, and great teaching. We're going to make a special effort to get a lot of new folks in the door, and give them an experience that will make them want to come back.

Dougherty Arts Center
Thursday, September 5th, 6-9pm, DAC: Texas Biennial Reception. The Texas Biennial is a juried art show featuring submissions from around the state. This year the DAC (Dougherty Art Center) was invited to participate. Brenda Benton entered the video of the 2007 Dance Around the World performance at the DAC. Coordinated by Jo Soto, the video includes several members of AIFD and Csardas.
Texas Camp 2013 registration is now open! Steve and Susy Kotansky will teach Hungarian couples and Albanian/other Balkan at this, the 66th annual Texas Camp, Nov 28 - Dec 1.
