Enjoy an evening of boisterous live music from our resident folk quartet, Slavadillo! We’ll be treated to the instrumental and vocal stylings of Anne Alexander, Don Weeda, Kathleen McDonagh, and Mike Revesz. Sharon Casteel will be our DJ for this fun evening. Sharon will be assisted by Dee McCandless. |

Friday, September 29, 7-9:45 pm. The admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older. There is no fee for those under 18,
but they must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.

AIFD is organized exclusively for educational purposes, including the promotion and teaching of traditional folk dance, music and crafts native to a variety of countries.

October 13: October Birthdays and Anniversaries!!!
Do you or a fellow dancer have a birthday or anniversary in October? Come to folk dancing on this auspicious and totally non-ominous night to celebrate with song, dance, and cake!

October 20: Children And Their Families!!!
Dances for children and their families: We are starting a quarterly program focused on teaching dances that children will enjoy. Children are the future of folk dancing, so we want them and their families to want to keep coming back. On October 20, the first ninety minutes will be geared toward dances that children and the whole family will enjoy.

October 27: Halloween alla Strada!!!
Join us for a thunderous Halloween party at AIFD, featuring live music by La Strada! Don your costumes of Halloweens past and present, bring some sweet treats for the kids, and enjoy a night of freaky tunes from Dee, Jeff, and company.

November 10: No dancing.
Hancock Rec Center will be closed in observance of Veterans' Day.

October 15 – Deadline for “family priority” private housing requests.
November 1 – Deadline for regular registration ($25 thereafter).

Fri-Sat, Sep 29-30: 85th Austin Mediterranean Festival!!!
The Austin Mediterranean Festival is one of the oldest and most popular food festivals in Austin: an Austin tradition for more than 80 years! The 85th Mediterranean Festival will be held on Friday, September 29th, 6 pm to 11 pm and Saturday, September 30th, noon to 11 pm. Join us again this year for an even greater fun filled weekend!
