OKTOBERFEST!!! Franklin DJs, Janie assists. |
 Join us this Friday as we celebrate OKTOBERFEST!! The festivities will include (Root) Beer floats, Lederhosen and Dirndls, and a Grand March. You'll also have a chance to show off the German dances that Michel Breger has taught over the past few weeks. And Don Weeda will organize some live music for the occasion! Franklin Houston will DJ this lively event. He will be assisted by Janie Hopkins.

Friday, October 5, 7-9:45 pm. Admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older. There is no fee for those under 18,
but they must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.
Hancock Rec Center (HRC)
AIFD is organized exclusively for educational purposes, including the promotion and teaching of traditional folk dance, music and crafts native to a variety of countries.

Friday, October 19: October Birthdays and Anniversaries!!
Do you or a fellow dancer have a birthday or anniversary in October? Come to folk dancing to celebrate with song, dance, and cake!

Friday, October 26: Halloween Party!!
Wear a folk costume, a scary costume, or come as yourself! We’ll have treats for you, too! More details to come!

Friday, November 9: The Texas Camp Band!!
Our annual tradition of having the Texas Camp Band come and play for us prior to Texas Camp, which will be two weeks later.

2803 Loyola Lane, Austin.
Cost: $10 for 6 weeks, or $2 per class.

The Fire Ant Frolic Weekend will be held October 26-28 at the Austin Sports Center South, 425 Woodward Street in South Austin. Registration is open and can be done online! |
November 2-4: OKCIFD Old Country Weekend!!
This year, the OKCIFD Old Country Weekend is being held on Nov 2-4 at Cross Point Camp on Lake Texoma in Oklahoma. We are featuring Yves Moreau, a fabulous dance instructor from Montreal who is a world renowned expert on Bulgarian and Balkan folk dances. We will also have the pleasure of having Don Weeda and Anne Alexander, our favorite live musicians from Austin! Join us!!!. Registration.
