First Friday at Hancock!!!
Open House!!
Sharon CasteelDavid LiangJoin us in celebrating the start of our dancing on Fridays with AIFD's FREE annual open house at the new time slot of 7:00 to 9:45. This exciting event will be full of fun dance teaching and walkthroughs, so please invite everyone who might be interested to come and discover the joy of folk music and dance! Also, feel free to wear your favorite folk costume or bring something for the snack table! This fun evening will be DJ'd by Sharon Casteel. Sharon will be assisted by David Liang.

October 9th: October Birthday & Anniversary Celebration!!
CakeDo you have an October birthday or anniversary? Do you know a fellow folk dancer who does? Come to folk dancing to be serenaded and enjoy some delicious cake!

October 23rd: Live Music with the Homegrown Contra Band!!
Home Grown Contra BandHomegrown Contra Band will be playing two sets of international music and, because no contra band is worth its weight in music stands without it, will play a lively contra called by Kathleen McDonagh.

November 26-29 Texas Camp 2015!
Texas Camp 2015Registration is now open for Texas Camp, 2015. This year's teachers include Mihai David (Romanian) and Campbell Miller (Social Dances). For full details, registration materials, and loads of other fun stuff, check out the Texas International Folk Dancers website.

Wednesdays: Scandinavian Music Jams and Dance!!
The Austin Scandi Folk Music & Dance community holds FREE weekly jam sessions at the back room of Austin Scandi Dancersthe Hancock Rec Center! A themed session runs from 7:30 to about 8:15, followed by a regular jam. Bring your instrument of choice, or come outMisi and dance to the music! Then once a month the Scandi group will devote the entire evening to dancing. All levels welcome!
September 30: Monthly Dance!! Come on out and dance to some lovely Scandinavian tunes! There will often be live music, and the electric Misi Tsurikov will be your DJ for the evening.
