Teaching: Join us as Lisa Horn Dielman teaches the lively Romanian dance Batuta Muntaneasca. Get to dancing early as the entire teach session will be dedicated to the dance and you'll want to be there at the start. |
Contra: Our Contra this week will be done at 8:35 (just after announcements) and will be called by Elizabeth Stehl. |
Friday, November 2, 7-9:45 pm. Admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older. There is no fee for those under 18,
but they must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.
Hancock Rec Center (HRC)
AIFD is organized exclusively for educational purposes, including the promotion and teaching of traditional folk dance, music and crafts native to a variety of countries.

Our annual tradition of having the Texas Camp Band come and play for us prior to Texas Camp, which will be two weeks later.

Friday, November 16: November Birthdays and Anniversaries!!
Do you or a fellow dancer have a birthday or anniversary in November? Come to folk dancing to celebrate with song, dance, and cake!

We hope to see you there. We won't be meeting at HRC on Friday, November 23rd. Deadlines:November 1st: Registration deadline with no late fee. November 8th: Absolute last day to register (with $25 late fee).

AIFD White Board Replacement
The digital white board pilot (aka playlist on TV screen) is going great! We would like to to get feedback from programmers, assistants and dancers. Please send any comments or concerns you have to president@aifd.cc.

IT Consultant appointment.
The board has appointed Bill Freiboth as AIFD's IT Consultant. Bill has brought us the digital white board, and will continue with that project, maintain our PC equipment and networking, and perform other projects assigned by the board. Bill has a long history with IT projects, and we are very glad to have him on board!

November 2-4: OKCIFD Old Country Weekend!!
This year, the OKCIFD Old Country Weekend is being held on Nov 2-4 at Cross Point Camp on Lake Texoma in Oklahoma. We are featuring Yves Moreau, a fabulous dance instructor from Montreal who is a world renowned expert on Bulgarian and Balkan folk dances. We will also have the pleasure of having Don Weeda and Anne Alexander, our favorite live musicians from Austin! Join us!!!. Registration.
