This Friday at dancing: Moldavian Dance Party!! Franklin DJs, Janie assists. |
Join us for an evening of Moldavian dancing with special guest musicians all the way from Hungary! No partner or experience is necessary to enjoy these high-energy dances. Franklin Houston will be our DJ. He will be assisted by Janie Hopkins.
Vera Pintér and Misi Tsurikov will conduct some quick teaching and walk-throughs during the evening to help you make this most of this great music and dancing.
There will be a short couples’ Mezosegi as a sneak preview for the Hungarian Tanchaz happening the next night. See Upcoming Other Dance features below for more details!

Friday, November 1, 7-9:45 pm. Admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older. There is no fee for those under 18,
Persons 17 and younger must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.

Friday, November 8: The Texas Camp Band!! Our annual tradition of having the Texas Camp Band come and play for us prior to Texas Camp. |
Friday, November 15: November Birthdays and Anniversaries and Samodivas Singing Group!!
Do you or a fellow dancer have a birthday or anniversary in November? Come to folk dancing to celebrate with song, dance, and cake! That evening we will also be treated to a performance by the Samodivas Singing Group (details forthcoming).

Friday, November 29: TEXAS CAMP!!!
We hope to see you at TEXAS CAMP, November 28-December 1, outside of Bruceville, TX. Since you cannot be in two places at once, we will not be meeting at HRC Friday, November 29.

Friday, December 6: Candle Light Trail!!!
Candlelight Trail at Hancock!! Open to the public!! Walk the trail, see Santa, and join us for folk dancing. We’ll have easy dances and walk-throughs. Snacks and drinks provided. Free and open to the public!! Csardas will perform!!

Mondays, Oct 7-Nov 11: English Country Dancing Basics and Beyond.
A six-week introductory class on Monday evenings at Hancock Recreation Center, 7:30 – 9:30 pm, Culminating in an English Country Dance Ball, featuring live music, on November 18th.
Instructors: Sylverre Polhemus and Elizabeth Stehl.
