| Link of the week:Maple Leaf Rag (Paris, France - 1902). Composed by the "King of Ragtime" Scott Joplin, this tune was unfairly associated with Jim Crow racism. In fact, Ragtime heavily influenced what became Swing, Lindy, and may popular dance styles that continue to inspire all of us. This week Misi and Rebecca will introduce a nice couples dance that fits well with the music. |

Elections for 2026-7 AIFD Board of Directors - May 15!!!.
Elections for 2026-7 Board of Directors were originally scheduled for May 8. However, Hancock Recreation Center will be closed for maintenance that day. So elections have been rescheduled for May 15.
