John ScalesMark EdwardsEnjoy a lively evening of dancing DJ'd by John Scales. John will be assisted by Mark Edwards. This week we'll celebrate our dancers who have a birthday or anniversary in March with song, dance, and cake.
Franklin HoustonTeaching: Franklin Houston will again present a collection of popular circle and line dances. They will include Makazice, Bela Rada, Ajnzerica, and Sardana. Come polish your styling or learn them for the first time!.

Friday, March 9, 7-9:45 pm.
Admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older.

There is no fee for those under 18,
but they must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.
Hancock Rec Center (HRC)
AIFD is organized exclusively for educational purposes, including the promotion and teaching of traditional folk dance, music and crafts native to a variety of countries.

FREE Beginner Folk Dance Class!!
Tuesdays, through March 13, 6:45-7:45.

Sharon CasteelJoin our teaching director, Sharon Casteel, as she leads a 6 week Beginner Folk Dance class at the Dottie Jordan Recreation Center, 2803 Loyala Lane in Austin (map). Sharon has taught Setnja, Lesnoto, Raca, Ajde Jano, and Gori More, which are reviewed each week. Some dances she may teach in the future are Corlu Aroman, Cocek, Yaylalar, and Ma Na'avu. Feel free to join the class anytime. Flier.

In honor of the 60th annual San Antonio Folk Dance Festival, AIFD will not be meeting this week.

Bunny Rabbit March 30: "Let's go to the Hop!"
On March 30, we are having an Easter Bunny Hop - Come for all your favorite folk dances and, of course, a Bunny Hop! We will have plenty of chocolate snacks, AND we are negotiating with the Easter Bunny to make an appearance! More details to come.

Csardas Hungarian Dancers
Mondays, 7-9:45, HRC, backroom, free.
No partner necessary, we rotate often.
Austin Barn Dancers
Wednesdays, 7:30-10pm, Hancock Rec Center.

These include a Set For Spring English Country Dance workshop, a Canary Island Dance Workshop - Celebrating the 300th anniversary of the arrival of Canary Islanders to San Antonio; a Fun Arts Day; and a Hawaiian luau.
