Steampunk Party
Steampunk Bill Ogilvie It is Daylight Savings Time!!! Time Travel in the Folk Dance World. We’ll celebrate the daylight savings time change with futuristic time travel from a 19th century point of view. Bill Ogilvie will DJ this lively event, assisted by Kristina Kinsel and John Ramage. For this theme think: “The Victorian Era does science fiction.”Kristina KinselJohn Ramage This is your chance to modify your folk dance costumes in shockingly historically inaccurate ways. For costume ideas, think of examples from these movies, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and the television series The Wild Wild West.

March 29th: Mad Hatter's Ball!
Mad HatterCelebrate April Fool’s Day just a tad early. Channel the energy of madness and whimsy by wearing a striking hat of your choice. Decorate a top hat or bonnet. Wear character hats. Any hat will do as long as it is danceable. Madeline will DJ this evening of topsy-turvy frivolity.

Behind closed doors:
Please keep the outside doors to the Hancock Ballroom closed. Why? Two reasons!
1. Keep the A/C in--AIFD is entrusted by the city to keep the climate-controlled air in. This regulates heating/cooling costs, which the Hancock staff monitors. The Board is investigating ways to adjust the ballroom temperature as needed for optimum comfort. If you are too hot on Saturday night, please tell a Board member or put a comment in the collection-box.
2. Keep allergens out--Many dancers in our community suffer from allergies. Please keep the doors closed, since open doors admit extra allergens.
