This Friday at dancing

Franklin HoustonDee McCandlessEnjoy a lively evening of folk dancing DJ'd by Franklin Houston. Franklin will be assisted by Dee McCandless.
Teaching: Come at 7:00 for an SAFDF-themed newcomers' session Misiled by Misi Tsurikov. Misi will present some easy dances from past SAFDFs. Later in the evening krasi_three_dancers05_smallour DJ this week, Franklin Houston, will review Bučimiš, a Bulgarian line dance in 15/16 rhythm that was introduced in Texas at the 1968 Texas Camp. Wear a loose fitting belt if you want to do the dance lesa na poyas!

We’ll also celebrate all of our dancers with a birthday or anniversary in March.

In support of the San Antonio Folk Dance Festival (SAFDF), AIFD will not be meeting at Hancock. Details about the festival are below. We hope to see you there.

April Fools HatWe'll be dancing on April Fools' night this year! Stay tuned, and prepare to be surprised by a surprising number of surprisingly surprising surprises.

CakeIt's time to celebrate all of our dancers with a birthday or anniversary in April. Come to folk dancing to dance with them, serenade them, and feed them cake!

March 18-20: 58th Annual San Antonio Folk Dance Festival
San Antonio Folk Dance FestivalSAFDF 2016 is coming up soon -- and registration is open! This year features Bulgarian dances with Yves Moreau, French Canadian and children's dances with France Bourque-Moreau, and West African dances with Tonya Pennie. (Note: in support of SAFDF, AIFD will not meet at Hancock on Friday, March 18th.)
