Couples Dance 101 Series Graduation Party!!!

 (Click on image for full size picture.) | We concluded the six-week Couple's 101 class with a graduation party last Friday. Music was provided by Paul Morrissett and Don Weeda with help from Anne Alexander and Kathleen McDonaugh. The music was great! Paul, let us know when you are coming to town again!
Thanks to Michel Breger, Stephanie Anderson, and Madeline Brock for the fantastic teaching that made this series such a success.

Teaching: Franklin Houston will present a collection of popular circle and line dances. They will include Makazice, Bela Rada, Ajnzerica, and Sardana. Come polish your styling or learn them for the first time! |
Friday, March 2, 7-9:45 pm. Admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older. There is no fee for those under 18,
but they must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.

AIFD is organized exclusively for educational purposes, including the promotion and teaching of traditional folk dance, music and crafts native to a variety of countries.

FREE Beginner Folk Dance Class!! Tuesdays, through March 13, 6:45-7:45.
Join our teaching director, Sharon Casteel, as she leads a 6 week Beginner Folk Dance class at the Dottie Jordan Recreation Center, 2803 Loyala Lane in Austin (map). Sharon has taught Setnja, Lesnoto, Raca, Ajde Jano, and Gori More, which are reviewed each week. Some dances she may teach in the future are Corlu Aroman, Cocek, Yaylalar, and Ma Na'avu. March 9: March Birthday and Anniversaries!!!
Do you have a birthday or anniversary in March, or know a fellow folk dancer who does? Come to folk dancing to celebrate with song, dance, and cake!

In honor of the 60th annual San Antonio Folk Dance Festival, AIFD will not be meeting this week.

The week prior to the San Antonio Folk Dance Festival will be filled with a variety of fun and interesting workshops and events. These include a Set For Spring English Country Dance workshop, a Canary Island Dance Workshop - Celebrating the 300th anniversary of the arrival of Canary Islanders to San Antonio; a Fun Arts Day; and a Hawaiian luau.
