What you may not know is that dancers are big winners at the conference. Wrist band holders come to hear music. They don't come to dance. During their spare time, musicians love to join local bands who play for dancers. So, forget the crowds. Just go to some of the local dance dives and the musicians will come to you. Want to play music at folk dancing? Check out AIFD's live music compensation policy. Thanks SLAVADILLO!!! Thanks Slavadillo for the great music at last week's Time Warp Party. Don, Ann, Kathleen, Mike, and Charlotte performed two incredible sets that included many of our favorite tunes. 40 people attended the party, and Slavadillo had nearly everyone of them up for each dance. Live music works!!! Live music and Saturday night folk dancing is a winning combination. Utilizing AIFD's live music compensation policy, the AIFD board would like to arrange a live music event at least every 6 weeks. If would like to play at Saturday night dancing, take a look at the policy and see if it could work for you. And, if it does, let the AIFD board know so we can get the ball rolling.
