Kathleen McDonaghTeaching: Kathleen McDonagh will be presenting the always popular dances of Yves and France Moreau. She will be teaching dances from Bulgaria and France. The featured dance of the evening will be Coconeasa. Teaching begins at 7:00. Come learn the dances that have given folk dancers so much dancing joy!

Friday, August 26th: Leah's Birthday Dance -
A Tribute to Leah Morgan Durrett.

This will be a loving, light-hearted evening, in the spirit of someone who had infectious curiosity about all kinds of music and cultures. Leah DurrettLeah was the type of person to perk up at the sound of a band playing and jump right into the line to figure out the dance. Music by: Don Weeda, Corinne Zappler, Genevieve Kent, and Phara Charmchi. So put on your fanciest wig, stripey-est socks, and your most extravagant hat, and in the spirit of Leah, dance your heart out! Full details here.

August is AIFD membership month.
An annual $10 fee from each member is needed to fulfill our insurance obligations, allows you to vote (or run for) AIFD Board positions, and covers costs beyond the weekly door fee.

Current members: If you have not already done so, please renew your membership with the group. It is simple: give $10 (cash or check) to the treasurer at dancing with a special note and, if necessary, update your contact information.

New members: If you have been dancing with us for at least a month, please join us as an official member. New members are provided a magnetized name badge; simply provide us your completed membership form, and $10 (cash or check).
