Saturday, August 8th: Polar Exposure and Birthday / Anniversary Celebration!
 Chill out at the height of summer as we take to high and mighty latitudes, exploring the dances from our planet’s polar regions! We’ll also be celebrating August birthdays and anniversaries. Do you or a fellow folk dancer have a birthday or anniversary in August? Come out and enjoy some cake!

AIFD is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable experience for everyone at AIFD events. On July 11th the AIFD board released its own Code of Conduct. The AIFD board collaborated with the staff at Hancock  Rec Center and reviewed policies implemented by other groups to develop this code. You can find the link to the code of conduct on the right column of aifd.cc as well as in the "Other dance links" section of the AIFD newsletter. If you have any questions about the code, please feel free to contact an AIFD board member.

July 24-26, IFCC Dance Workshop!!
The International Folk Culture Center at Our Lady of the Lake University in  San Antonio is hosting a workshop around Regency-Era Dances & English Country Dances. Wednesday, July 29th, Scandinavian Dance Party
 Once a month, the Austin Scandi Folk Music & Dance  community hosts a free dance! Come on out to our inaugural event and dance to some lovely Scandinavian tunes, including a few performed by the Scandi Jam Band! The radiant Christian Cie will be your DJ for the evening.
