This Friday at dancing Birthdays and Anniversaries. Madeline DJs, Calin assists.

Do you or a fellow dancer have a birthday or anniversary in January? Come to folk dancing to celebrate with song, dance, and cake! This lively evening of dancing will be DJ'd by Madeline Brock. Madeline will be assisted by Calin Nicolae. |
Teaching: Kathleen McDonagh will once again present “Ghosts of SAFDF Past”, dances that have been taught by some of the folk dance community’s most illustrious dance teachers at the annual San Antonio Folk Dance Festival. Her featured teaching will be Hora Veche, originally presented by Sonia Dion and Cristian Florescu. Come enjoy a blast from the past with Kathleen. Teaching begins at 7:00.

Friday, January 13, 7-9:45 pm. The admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older. There is no fee for those under 18,
but they must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.
Hancock Rec Center (HRC)
AIFD is organized exclusively for educational purposes, including the promotion and teaching of traditional folk dance, music and crafts native to a variety of countries.

March 17-19: 2017 San Antonio Folk Dance Festival!!!
Mark your calendars for the 59th annual San Antonio Folk Dance Festival and Fun Arts Day!. Featured teachers: Ahmet Lüleci (Turkish dances), Miroslav "Bata" Marcetic (Serbian dances), and Andy Taylor-Blenis (Scottish, international, and children's dances). Advance tickets for the Saturday concert are available at safdf.org. Stay tuned for other workshop information, including teachers, housing, and registration instructions. Reminder that in support of the festival, AIFD will not meet on Friday, March 17th.
