Teaching: Come at 7:00 p.m. for another enjoyable and lively newcomers' session led MisiKathleen McDonaghby Misi Tsurikov. Then, look for a fast-paced review of the Shim Sham, as Kathleen McDonagh wraps up her great teaching of this old American favorite.

Friday, February 12th: A Deliciously Sweet Valentine's & Birthday Party
Valentine treeLet's celebrate all the sweet things we love! We'll have our monthlyCake cake for all of our dancers with a February birthday or anniversary, as well as a variety of hearty sweets for your consumption. You're all welcome to bring some of your own favorite sweets to share. Come with your sweetheart, or just come gorge your heart out on sweets. And of course, we'll be grooving to an engrossingly sweet suite of dances. Sweet!

San Antonio Folk Dance FestivalSAFDF 2016 is coming up soon -- and registration is now open! This year features Bulgarian dances with Yves Moreau, French Canadian and children's dances with France Bourque-Moreau, and West African dances with Tonya Pennie. (Note: in support of SAFDF, AIFD will not meet at Hancock on Friday, March 18th.)

Are you CPR/AED certified?
Safety First! The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is located next to the attendant's desk at Hancock. Even if you are not certified to operate the device, Automated External Defibrillatorjust knowing where it is could save a life. If you are certified to operate the AED please let the Board know. The Board will not keep an official list, but would like to know who to turn to in the event of an emergency. Thanks! (more details here.)
