Special announcement: filming this week.
The City's Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) is working on a program to promote Hancock Recreation Center's activities to the community. This week, a PARD representative will be interviewing Dena and Franklin Houston because they have been involved with Hancock for 50 years and AIFD has been the activity at Hancock they love the most. He will also videotape two dances at AIFD around 9 PM that evening.

Enjoy a fun evening of dancing to the lively tunes of our returning champions, La Strada!! La Strada's repertoire includes a number of our favorite folk dance tunes, as well as other dance classics, all of which will have you   swirling and turning on the dance floor. Here is a snippet of the La Strada performing at one of the farmers' markets. John Scales will DJ this fun evening of dancing. John will be assisted by Gilberto Rivera.

 Come celebrate all of our dancers with a birthday or anniversary in March.

Friday, March 18th: SAFDF: No dancing at HRC.
In support of the San Antonio Folk Dance Festival (SAFDF), AIFD will not be meeting at Hancock. Details about the festival are below. We hope to see you there.

Friday, April 1st: General Foolishness Incoming...
 We'll be dancing on April Fools' night this year! Stay tuned, and prepare to be surprised by a surprising number of surprisingly surprising surprises.

March 18-20: 58th Annual San Antonio Folk Dance Festival
 SAFDF 2016 is coming up soon -- and registration is open! This year features Bulgarian dances with Yves Moreau, French Canadian and children's dances with France Bourque-Moreau, and West African dances with Tonya Pennie. Visit safdf.org for more info and registration materials!
