This week at dancing
FREE - Holiday Candle Light Trail.
Candle Come to Hancock Recreation Center around dusk this Saturday for the 2013 Holiday Candle Light Trail celebration. Walk among the Billthousands of luminarias that will line the trails of the golf course. Then come inside for some hot chocolate and cookies and a visit from Santa, followed by some special performances. Afterwards AIFD will take over with a short set of easy dances done to Christmas and Hanukkah music. Dee McCandlessThis will be a great chance to introduce new folks to our group. We will then transition to our regular fun evening of dancing. Bill Ogilvie will DJ, assisted by Dee McCandless.
MisiFrom our teaching director, Misi Tsurikov: We'll have on-demand walkthroughs of dances throughout the evening. You will also see some of the great dances taught by Susy and Steve Kotansky at Texas Camp 2013. This will likely whet your appetite for learning these dances, and we will satisfy your craving with Camp teachings over the next several weeks.

Sunday, December 8th, noon-3: WinoVino plays at Central Market WinoVinoNorth, 4001 N Lamar Blvd. Wino Vino fuses together the music of Greece, Italy, Central Asia, and the Balkans with Gypsy Jazz, Turkish beats, and a pinch of their own American heritage. This will be a fun, kid friendly show with lots of great music and dancing.

Thursday, December 12th, 8pm: SLAVIC SHAKE at the Russian House! Come for an hour of dance teaching by the fabulous Bill Ogilvie and Misi Tsurikov interspersed with live music by Genevieve's band, Korobushka! Wino Vino will go on afterward and feature a medley of Balkan, Klezmer, Latin American, New Orleans style jazz and original tunes that will keep you shakin' that thang all night long. $6 cover, 307 East 5th St.
