AIFD Open House and Hancock Candle Light Trail!!
|
Come enjoy a night of free, family-oriented folk dancing fun as part of Hancock Recreation Center's Candle Light Trail festivities. Franklin Houston will DJ, assisted by Lindsay Orlando. If you arrive early, be sure to walk the candle light trail (luminarias) through the golf course and then go meet Santa in the main ballroom! Refreshments will be served. |
Teaching: “Santa Baby, teach a little folk dance to me . . . .” After enjoying the luminarias, come inside to warm up with dances sure to appeal to all. To help welcome our holiday revellers, dance elves Kathleen McDonagh, Misi Tsurikov and Madeline Brock will be on hand to lead walk-throughs as needed. Later in the evening, Franklin Houston and Pamela Peters will review the Dutch Hop, a charming and still popular couples’ dance (that’s not even a little bit Dutch). |
Saturday, December 6th 7:30-10:45 pm FREE!!. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 - A Night in Old Vienna!!!
|
Get ready to kick off the New Year with another spectacular AIFD celebration - Vienna style.
Details are still in the works, but expect Grand Marches, waltzes, formal set dances, and plenty of formality that you might have expected in old world Europe.
|
Have something you'd like to see in the AIFD newsletter? Do you have an upcoming event you'd like to announce, a poem you'd like to share, a dance experience you think other dancers would enjoy? Feel free to submit it to the AIFD newsletter and we'll see if we can fit it in.
