 Cap off the summer and celebrate the start of another school year at AIFD! Enjoy light refreshments and fun, easy dances for the whole family. Our DJ for this fun evening will be Mike Revesz. Mike will be assisted by Lila Luce. |
Teaching: What I did on my summer vacation: Holly Plotner will continue teaching dances from Greece, Albania and Bulgaria learned on her annual trek to Balkan Camp. The featured teaching will be Čičovato Horo, a lively club dance from Bulgaria. |
Friday, August 25, 7-9:45 pm. The admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older. There is no fee for those under 18,
but they must be supervised by a designated person 18 or older.

AIFD is organized exclusively for educational purposes, including the promotion and teaching of traditional folk dance, music and crafts native to a variety of countries.

September 8: September Birthday and Anniversaries!!!
Do you have a birthday or anniversary in September, or know a fellow folk dancer who does? Come to folk dancing to celebrate with song, dance, and cake!

September 22: AIFD Open House!!!
It's time for our FREE annual open house! Join us from 7:00 to 9:45 for a festive event with plenty of dance teaching for newcomers. Invite your family, friends, and co-workers to come and discover the joy of folk music and dance!

September 29: An evening with Slavadillo!!!
Enjoy an evening of boisterous live music from our resident folk quartet, Slavadillo! We’ll be treated to the instrumental and vocal stylings of Anne Alexander, Don Weeda, Kathleen McDonagh, and Mike Revesz.

Fri-Sat, Sep 29-30 85th Austin Mediterranean Festival!!!
The Austin Mediterranean Festival is one of the oldest and most popular food festivals in Austin: an Austin tradition for more than 80 years! The 85th Mediterranean Festival will be held on Friday, September 29th, 6 pm to 11 pm and Saturday, September 30th, noon to 11 pm. Join us again this year for an even greater fun filled weekend!
