August 31: While the cats are away ...
Mice dancing Bring your wish list of dances you've wanted to learn and practice to folk dancing on 8/31 (Labor Day Weekend Saturday). Austin’s Hungarian dance group, Csardas, will be performing at Westfest in West, TX. Since Csardas includes several AIFD "regulars", this will be a great evening to focus on dances and dance styles that may not get enough attention on other evenings. Bill Ogilvie will both DJ and teach. If we get a nice balance of leads and follows, we’ll even work on swing dance basics.

September 14: Back to School Open House.
Back to schoolIt is never to early to start talking up our September Open House. Madeline Brock will DJ this very special event. We're going to make a special effort to get a lot of new folks in the door, and give them an experience that will make them want to come back.

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Shama Gamkhar, who, along with her husband, was killed in a plane crash in Georgia on August 4th. Shama danced with AIFD in the 1990's and early 2000's.
