 This Friday's AIFD/HIFD Virtual Folk Dance, August 14, 7:30-9:30pm, will be hosted by HIFD (Zoom link).
You can also find a Zoom link, as well as a complete lineup of music and teachers, on the HIFD website prior to the event. If you have any dance requests, please submit them to jnjbloom@gmail.com prior to noon on Thursday, August 13.

John Bloom of HIFD has posted some good information on how to help better your virtual dance experience.
Also, the dance leaders would like to provide you with some ideas on how to have an easier time following us during our virtual dance sessions. For dances that move around a lot, try taking smaller steps and doing quick little pivots in place to face your screen again. Also, putting up a mirror opposite your monitor screen can assist you in viewing the dance leader while your back is to the screen.

Frances Danis
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend, Frances Danis, who passed away peacefully on Monday.
"She was a good friend & confidante, a joyful dance partner, a lover of life, and she cared deeply about people.
Frances handled her diagnosis and treatment of cancer over the last two and a half years with true grace, fortitude, and good humor.
She will be so missed and remembered dearly by everyone in her wide circle of friends."

Would you like to be Zoom Monitor for AIFD?
A message from Scott Margo, Program Director:
Zoom monitors help make Zoom dance events run smoother as well as take the load off of dance instructors. Austin is looking for monitors for Friday dance events on 9/4, 9/18, 10/2, 10/16, and 10/30.
The total time commitment is just over two hours.
