Golden Oldies Night!!

Golden OldiesJoin AIFD this week for a very special evening of dancing. Franklin Houston will Franklin present a program of “Golden Oldies” (dances introduced to AIFD before 1980, dances taught by Bobbi Gillotti and dances taught by Dick Crum).

The program will have something for everyone. Many of the dances will be easy enough for the Iola newer dancer, while a number of them will be challenging enough for the most experienced dancer. Franklin will be assisted by AIFD's own president, Iola Hallock.

Golden Oldies Check out the webpage for this event for biographies of Bobbie Gilloti and Dick Crum, as well as a list of dances that Franklin will choose his program from.

The Golden Oldies party will kick off promptly at 7:30 - so get to dancing early so you don't miss anything.

Why run for the AIFD board?
AIFD headerThe Austin International Folk Dancers group has been around for over 50 years now. As with many healthy dance groups, AIFD thrives over the long AIFD Historyhaul through annual elections of a board of directors.

Board members help the group navigate through changing times and technologies, as well as changing tastes and interests of new generations. Board members also set the tone for the group, ensuring that Saturday Nights are welcoming to newcomers while also making the evenings fun and interesting for experienced dancers.

A healthy board depends on new people running for offices. So, if you see yourself attending Saturday Night at least once a month over the next year, we encourage you to consider running for the AIFD board. If you are interested, please contact one of the current board members.
