Franklin DJ's, Kathleen assists. LIVE MUSIC!!!
|
Enjoy a lively and fun evening of folk dancing with DJ Franklin Houston. Franklin will be assisted by Kathleen McDonagh. The evening will include Live Music: Paul Morrisett, master of the violin, fiddle, hardingfele, and plucked string instruments, will team up with our own master accordionist, Don Weeda, to provide an eclectic mix of tunes for our dancing and listening pleasure. |
Teaching: We continue our teaching of dances from SAFDF 2016! Misi Tsurikov will lead a newcomers' session themed around the easier dances. Then, we welcome David Liang in his teaching debut at AIFD! He will teach Sardana Curta, a dance from Spain introduced by France Bourque-Moreau. Finally, don't miss Sarah Wendtlandt's review of Valse Des Cerfs-Volants, the hauntingly beautiful dance she taught last week. |

AIFD Featured in City of Austin Video about Hancock.
|
Many of you may recall when a person from the City of Austin's television channel, ATXN, came to AIFD dancing on February 19 to do a story about Hancock. The video he produced is terrific and is now available on YouTube at https://youtu.be/dnSG7galgo4. The segment about AIFD starts at minute 8, or use this link (it's queued to the start of the segment). The video features great shots of AIFD in action as well as a touching and insightful interview with Franklin and Dena Houston. Enjoy.
